Alice Mae Verlinde-Broadston

On January 20, 2020 God saw fit to call Alice Mae Verlinde-Broadston to her eternal resting place. Her decline was sudden and took the family by surprise. She was at home surrounded by family and passed away peacefully. Alice was known as an “encourager and a prayer warrior”. She would say, “Praise God in all things, but not for all things.” Her family is thankful that their Mom/Mama/Mimi/Grandma no longer suffers daily dealing with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. However, she will not be forgotten, and she will be dearly missed. Her family intends to keep her memory and spirit alive by exampling the legacy she left behind. Her daily communication and presence will be missed by the many lives she touched. She had a generous heart and always put the needs of others before her own. If she knew someone needed something, she provided it without the asking. One of her greatest joys was blessing other people. Recipients of her card ministry will miss the words of comfort and spiritual uplifting she provided. Alice retired from the workforce at the age of 50 years old but maintained her employment contract with God leading others to Christ until she passed. She was an active member of Churchland Assembly of God for over thirty-two years. Her Pastor, Larry O’Brien, will be celebrating the life of Alice on Wednesday, February 5th, 2020. Her family will receive friends in Churchland Assembly of God at 10 am with the service starting at 11 am. Interment to follow at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Alice Mae Verlinde-Broadston (Kripps) was born to William Kripps and Ada Hathaway Kripps. She was survived by her ex-husband, Lucky Verlinde, and their four children, son Joseph Verlinde and wife Cecilia Bravo, daughter Tina Pierce and husband Scott Pierce, daughter Sandra Laksono and husband Dicky Laksono, and daughter Catherine Verlinde Clark. Her thirteen grandchildren Timothy Premo, Amanda Premo, Nathan Laksono, Brianna Verlinde, Ethan Laksono, Racheal Velez, Matthew Pierce, Cayna Clark, Elijah Laksono, Cally Clark, Aaron Clark, and Laci and Levi Laksono; and one Great-Grandchild, Nainoa Laksono. She also has one surviving brother, Billy Kripps in Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her parents William and Ada Kripps, her twin brother Paul, her two baby twin brothers Bobby and Chickie Kripps, and her late husband Leonard Broadston.
