Betty Jane Tracy Wessing

Betty Jane Tracy Wessing, 81, of Chesapeake, VA was called to be with Jesus after a life time of proud smiles and happy times. She went to be with her savior after battling diabetes and heart issues on Saturday, January 14, 2012. She leaves behind her devoted and loving husband of 58 years, Don; and her children, Donald and wife, Angie, James and wife, Nita, Linda and husband, Mitch; grandchildren, April, Kimberly, Heather, Robert, Kayla and Aaron and great-grandchildren, Shayne and Jay; her sister, Hazel and brother, Martin. She also leaves behind very special extended family members, Mary Robertson and her daughter, Megan and Ms. Louise Capps. Betty was especially very proud of her family and friends, loved gatherings and people to stop in and visit. She greeted everyone with a smile that would light up a room. Betty lovingly watched and cared for children for many years, especially those in the Western Branch elementary school district. It isn't often people find a job in something they so dearly love. Betty loved her children, all of them. Betty was a member of Western Branch Community Church and she absolutely cherished all of the members of her church family. Betty was born in Utica, NY to Mae and Orville Tracy who have long since gone to live with their Lord; as have three of her sisters, Mary, Ina, and Lillian and a brother, Harold.
