Frances P. Sellers

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frances P. Sellers, who went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 9, 2025. She was born on November 23, 1934, in Southampton County, Va., to the late Paul Washington Barham and Margaret Beale Barham. She is preceded in death by her faithful husband, Richard Daniel Sellers; her brothers, Robert Barham and Buddy Barham; her sisters, Irma Pepper, Eunice Copeland, and Gladys Riddick. She is survived by her son, Richard Sellers of Chesapeake, Va.; son, Ronald Sellers of Portsmouth, Va; her daughter, Joyce Allyn and husband Michael of Garland, Tx; her special nephew/son, Jerry Barham of Chesapeake Va.; and brother, Noah Barham of Chesapeake, Va.; her grandsons, Bryan Garrett, Nathan Sellers and wife Donna, Michael (Dane) Allyn and wife Kellie, Joshua Sellers, James (Jamie) Sellers and wife Megan, Daniel (Craig) Sellers; her great grandchildren, Jackson Sellers, Brooklyn Sellers, Skylar Sellers, Oliver Sellers, Austyn Allyn, Gracyn Allyn and Colton Allyn. Frances was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and big heart full of love and caring for those less fortunate and in need. During her last few years of employment, Frances provided personal in-home care to individuals nearing the end of their lives. She was highly regarded and loved by those families for her unwavering devotion and care she provided to their loved ones. Frances lived a life filled with faith in God and a hope for the future. She loved her family with unlimited devotion as they always came first in her life. The greatest gift and blessing she and her husband gave to their children was to introduce them to Jesus Christ and all of his ways. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Loving Funeral Home ~ 3225 Academy Ave. Portsmouth, Va. 23703. Bishop Eugene Hartley will be officiating the service.
