George F. Carroll

George F. Carroll, 79, passed away on Tuesday October 25, 2011. He was a native of Portsmouth and retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as an inspector. He faithfully served his country retiring as Sargent with 25 years of combined service with the Virginia Army National Guard and Retired Reserve. Mr. Carroll was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Rosal Lucille Carroll. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Terri L. Larson and husband, William of Melbourne, FL and Gina C. Fuller and husband, Wayne of Portsmouth; a son, Stephen A. Carroll and wife, Linda of Portsmouth; 9 grandchildren, Christopher E. Larson, Brian D. Larson, Jeffrey A. Larson, Tiffany Silverthorne, Ethan Fuller, Erica Fuller, Stephanie A. Carroll, Shelly A. Carroll, and Susan A. Carroll; great-grandson, Paul Silverthorne A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday by Rev. T. M. Frye in Olive Branch Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
