Jane Ivey

Jane Ivey, 71, passed away on Tuesday Sept. 6, 2016, surrounded by her loving family in her Churchland home, after losing her courageous battle to cancer. Jane Ivey was native of Union County, NJ and born on December 19, 1945 to Hank and Hazel Thielfoldt. She was one of three children; she was recently predeceased by her sister Judy Braig and is survived by her brother Bill Theilfoldt. Jane attended Walt Whitman High School in Long Island, New York where she was the president of Future Nurses of America. She met Dominick Rosnato Jr. in Hunington, NY. and they were later married and had three children, in which she is survived by, Dominick Rosnato III, Nicholas Rosnato and wife Kathy, and Christina Rosnato Hoyt. Their family resided in Salem, W.VA and Philedelphia, PA, before moving to Virginia in the early 70’s. By the 1980’s, Jane had established a career with A & P, where she met and later married her beloved husband, Milton Ivey and they established their forever home in Portsmouth, VA. Jane sustained a reputable career in the grocery industry, working for Superfresh and Kroger, where she retired in 2013. She was predeceased by her husband, Milton, in 2008 and they are survived by daughters Lucretia Seuren and husband Eric, Connie Atkins, and son Mike Ivey. Jane was also blessed with and is survived by her 9 grandchildren, Allison Rosnato, Danielle Rosnato, Rebecca Panlilio, Miles Hoyt, Megan Atkins, Hunter Atkins, Reed Seuren, Evan Seuren, and Colleen Seuren , along with great-granddaughter, Cora Ann . We are filled with the deepest sadness and sorrow at the passing of our beautiful, brave, and loving mother and grandmother, Jane Ivey. She fought and gave the good fight against cancer, showing her strength and courage throughout her battle. The loss of her kind and caring spirit leaves a giant hole in our hearts. We know that God and the angels will keep and bless your shining soul. We love you our sweet Momma!!!! In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made in Jane’s memory to the American Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held at 2PM Saturday Sept. 17, 2016 at Loving Funeral Home located at 3225 Academy Avenue Portsmouth, VA. 23703. The service will be officiated by Reverend Gordon Ellsworth.
