Jerry (Judy) Victoria Starke Sherwood

Jerry (Judy) Victoria Starke Sherwood, 77, went to be with our Lord on March 17th, 2024. She was predeceased by her mother, Eunice Jerry D’Amata, her brother Robert D’Amata and her father Charles Starke. Judy leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 46 years Robert (Woody) Sherwood; her children Vickie Lynn Seward, Linda Sue Campbell, and William Christian Sherwood; her grandchildren Andrew Hovestadt, Elvis York, and wife Hilary, Jessica Nicole York and Angeni Faith; and her great-grandchildren Jay'Shaun, Tre’von, Zay’vion, Zy’Rihanna Victoria, Logan, Savannah, Aiden. Judy spent her life caring for family. Her early years were spent helping her mother tend to her many siblings, Curtis Davis, Harold Davis, Marjorie Equals, John D’Amata, Ernest’teena LeBlanc, Robert D’Amata and Joey D’Amata. Even after having her own family Judy helped her mother and siblings as well as helping raise her grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Judy was a friend to everyone she met. Judy was a navy wife and spent much time during her husband’s 22-year career keeping a candle lit in the window and a fire in the hearth. While taking care of family, home and awaiting her husband’s return from his many deployments. She was met many trials in her life, but nothing dimmed her shine. Judy loved helping others, rescuing animals, dancing, gardening, and adventures. She loved walking the seashore looking for shells and riding around looking for new adventures. Judy dedicated her life to her family, mother, siblings, children and helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, not leaving much time for herself yet she kept her adventurous spirit and love of life. There could never be enough words to describe just how special Judy was to “our” family. She will forever be missed. We take comfort that she is no longer suffering but our hearts hurt that we will never again get a hug from her, hear her voice, her physical presence will be forever missed. Leaving a void in our family and lives. The family will receive friends at Loving Funeral Home, on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 2-4pm. A graveside service will be held at 1pm Monday, March 25, 2024, at Olive Branch Cemetery.
