Johnny Quick

Johnny Quick left us to be with the Lord on Monday, December 16, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Nathalee Quick along with his first wife, Sharon. His survivors include his wife, Debra, four children & their spouses – Johnny Jr & Shannon Quick, Sharlene “Charlie” & Chris Sykes, Colette & Lee Barrera and his loving son, Justin Quick, his grandchildren – Cortney, Johnny III, Alexis, Topher, Jaxon, Peyton, Jaden, Liam and a great grandson – Josiah; along with his loving sisters and brothers - Jim Quick, Dorothy “Petey” & Denis Law, Diane “Dinky” & Michael Stockton and Michael & Dawn Quick and a host of extended family. Johnny married Sharon and began their family when most friends were finishing high school and entering college. He followed in his father’s footsteps and became a Merchant Seaman. Soon after Charlie was born, he decided to look for other opportunities so he could be home with the family more and not miss out on making those important memories. He did various things in the years afterwards from Commercial Painting and Truck Driving to Medical Equipment Installation. After 22 years of marriage, Johnny found himself a widower. He was a man of few words, so he wasn’t one to go out and pick up women. He soon found another that made him happy, Debra or most know her as Debbie. After a few years together, they married and joined families. They spent the rest of his life together. Johnny loved to watch sports, play with the kids and animals. He was an active part of the grandchildren’s lives from getting them ready for school in the mornings to attending practices or games with them in the evenings. He was the BEST sideline cheerleader that was ever seen. To say that Johnny will be missed is not quite enough as he touched many hearts and lives with his simple kindness and generosity. He was always there to help or if he couldn’t, he knew someone in his circle of friends that knew how, and he’d make things happen. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday at Loving Funeral Home. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Friday from 6-7:30 pm.
