Julie Marie Easterbrooks

Julie Marie Easterbrooks was welcomed into God’s Kingdom, Friday, 8 February 2025 at the age of 66. She was a woman of deep faith, unwavering love, and selfless dedication. She loved all animals but especially horses and cats. During her life she was a horseback riding instructor, Cat Café owner and the mother of 3 children, Leah, Cherish and James (JT). Wherever she lived she always made the best home she could for her family. In 2014 she married James (Jim) Easterbrooks, and they shared 10 loving years together, going on adventures and building Kitty Kingdom Cat Café into the successful business it is today. An outstanding cook, she always could bring delicious meals to the table with amazing ease, delighting her guests and her family. Julie was a woman of God, a true believer. She prayed for everyone she met, and if you ever had the chance to know her, you know how special that was. She changed lives, whether it was a cat, a horse, a student, a friend, a daughter, a son, whoever she met. Rare for a boomer, she was an avid video game lover, with The Legend of Zelda her favorite. She was always wearing Zelda clothing, carrying a Zelda bag instead of a purse, or listening to the character Navi say, “Hello, hey, listen!” as her cell phone notification. Her final passion was Kitty Kingdom cat café’. Her desire to help animals, especially kittens and cats, led her to open Kitty Kingdom with her husband Jim in the fall of 2020. Over the past five years Julie and her dedicated, passionate employees and volunteers have provided a loving and happy place for rescue kitties to stay while they await adoption by their Furrever owners. As of the beginning of February 2025 over 1160 cats and kittens have been placed in their furrever homes. She was very proud to be able to support the private cat rescues throughout our region by having a location where people could come and play, chill, or fall in love and adopt a kitten or adult cat that needed a loving home. Julie was one of a kind who always stated when questioned about a funny quirk or attitude, “It’s part of my Charm!” She will be sorely missed by family, friends and by everyone this lovey woman touched thought her life. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, Feb 17 th at 11:00 a.m., by Malchut Chaim Messianic Congregation at Kingdom Life Church, Chesapeake, VA. A private Interment will occur at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, VA on Tuesday, Feb 18th.
