Linda McVicker

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda McVicker on January 11, 2025, at the age of 79. Born to Clarence Downing Carlisle and Frances Carlisle, Linda lived a life defined by boundless love, strength and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. On December 31, 1962, Linda married her one and only childhood love, Thomas Lee McVicker, beginning a beautiful 62-year journey together. Their marriage was a testament to true partnership, rooted in deep love and mutual respect. Linda was a powerhouse in every sense of the word. She was a woman of extraordinary talent and determination, capable of anything she set her mind to. Whether it was reupholstering furniture, remodeling their home with her own hands, or creating stunning works of art in pastels and oil paints, her creativity and skill knew no bounds. Her artistic spirit was matched by her love for nature, evident in the vibrant flowers she so lovingly planted and cared for in her yard. Her selflessness was perhaps her most defining quality. Linda was the kind of person who would give the shirt off her back to someone in need, always putting others before herself. She had a heart full of kindness and a spirit that lifted those around her. Linda gave her all for the people she loved, never hesitating to offer support, encouragement, or a helping hand. Above all else, Linda was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy came from the time she spent with her loved ones. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas McVicker; her daughters, Amber Edmondson and husband Brian Edmondson, and Cinnamon Carlisle. Linda also leaves behind her four grandchildren: Brittanni Phillips and her husband Jaimie Phillips, April Garrett and her husband Robert Garrett, Ryan Edwards and his partner Elizabeth King, and Alex Edmondson. Her legacy of love and strength will continue through her nine great-grandchildren: Emma Edwards, Jessie Bates, Blake Bates, Kyle Edwards, Aiden Garrett, Carter Garrett, Brianna Edwards, Ryanna Edwards, and Everleigh Edwards; and her brother Kenneth Carlisle. Linda’s presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was truly an amazing woman who made the world a better place just by being in it. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm Sunday, January 19, 2025, with Darrell Thomsen, Jr. Col-Ret officiating at Loving Funeral Home.
