Edward Lee Niece, Jr.

Edward Lee Niece, 71, slipped gently into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 5. He was the son of Edward Lee and Betty Arnold Niece of Bluefield, West Virginia. Served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam war. He was a faithful member of Wayside Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Virginia and was employed by Interstate Brands Corporation. Ed was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Deanna, his granddaughter Alexis and his sister Brenda N. Muterspaugh. He is survived by his wife Tena Davis Niece, sons: Brian Huntress and Kenneth Niece; grandsons: Shane Huntress, Brian Cameron Huntress and Noah Niece; sister Vicky Gore and her husband Ray, brother Jerry Niece and his wife Elizabeth, brother-in-law Jerry Muterspaugh and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers and to honor Ed’s memory, the family suggests donations to the Union Mission. A Christian service to celebrate his life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 12 in Wayside Baptist Church with military honors with Pastor Paul Mitchell officiating. A private committal service will be held at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.
