Gloria Funkhouser Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gloria Ferguson Funkhouser of Portsmouth, Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 14th 2022. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who look forward to a reunion with her in heaven. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Stewart and Irone Ferguson and her brother Dewey Ferguson. Gloria was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who is survived by her loving husband Daniel S. Funkhouser. Her children; Nancy Elizabeth Funkhouser, Douglas H. Funkhouser wife Julie, Daniel C. Funkhouser and wife Donna and Victoria F. McLean and husband Doug. Her grandchildren, Stephen, Kathryn, and Jonathan McLean and Lauren Funkhouser. Gloria was an active member of Sweethaven Baptist Church where she shared her love for her Savior by teaching and participation in the Ladies Missionary Circle. She was for many years active in the Good News Women’s Jail Ministry. Gloria also served as secretary for the DAV auxiliary, Chapter 22. The family will receive friends in Sweethaven Baptist Church Thursday from 10-11 am with her service starting at 11 am. Gloria's burial at the Albert G. Horton Veteran Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Missionary Fund of Sweethaven Baptist Church to honor Gloria’s love of missionaries.
