Norma Roberts Spencer, age 88, a native of Buckingham, Virginia, passed away on August 7, 2018. Norma was a loving mother, sister, aunt, friend, and faithful church member. She was a graduate of Buckingham County High School, 1947, Buckingham, Virginia. Norma was employed 25 years as a health care administrator and certified as a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Administrators. She was a Board of Directors member and Vice President of the Eastern Virginia Health Systems Agency since 1984. After retirement she taught at Eastern Virginia Medical School and volunteered at Maryview Hospital. Norma was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church, a member of their Choir, and a Deacon. Norma is survived by her son Robert W. Spencer and wife Renée of Surry, Virginia, and daughter Lamar S. Hall and husband Warren of Houston, Texas; sister, Ruby Stinson McMillan and family of Glen Allen, Virginia, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to express their gratitude to Emily Green Shores, Kindred Hospice, and all her caregivers. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at Grove Park Baptist Church, 1400 Rodman Avenue, Portsmouth, Virginia 23707, officiated by The Reverend Scott Pond. Memorial contributions can be made to Grove Park Baptist Church in lieu of flowers. At her request, her body has been donated to the Virginia State Anatomical Program in Richmond, Virginia, for medical research.
