Thomas L. “Don” Vickers, 70, passed on Oct. 27, 2017. He was born in El Paso, Texas. He was preceded in death by parents Rachel A. Vickers and Donald W. Vickers and grandson Thomas R. Hammond. Don is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carol J. Vickers; son Brent Corie, his wife Kim and their 6 children; daughter Shelby Hammond, her husband Dr. James Hammond and their four children. Don retired as a Fire Chief after 33 years of service. He was a member of Hobbs Masonic Lodge #63 in New Mexico, Churchland Masonic Lodge #276, Esther Chapter # 37 Order of the Eastern Star and he attended Churchland Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday November 4, 2017 at the Churchland Masonic Lodge 5717 High Street West, Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers Don requested donations to the Masonic Home of Virginia 4101 Nine Mile Road, Richmond, VA 23223. Loving Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
